What we know
We know Apple has announced iPhone OS 2.0, a free upgrade to be available in June that will allow third party applications to be purchased and to be run on the iPhone. We also know that Ted Rogers announced that the iPhone will coming to Canada this year on Rogers network.
It is obvious that a new iPhone or iPhones will be announded during the Steve Jobs keynote address at Apple's WWDC on June 9. The new "3G" iPhone(s) will be introduced with high speed HSPA data capability. It may also have a second camera to facilitate video calling. It may also have GPS capability.
Unlike the original iPhone, Rogers will have it sooner than rather than later. I would not even be surprised if Ted Rogers comes out on stage at the WWDC keynote along with a cavalcade of European providers during the new iPhone announcement. The data plan that Rogers offers with the iPhone will be more attractive than its existing data plans in order to increase the potential lure to Telus, Bell and MTS cusomters.
Along with some very helpful data applications the new App Store for the iPhone will start filling up with game software quickly. I also expect that some game company will demonstrate on stage at the WWDC keynote.
